Hey fellas, Beena member of this place for over a year, but just found this social group.

I'm Mark, I'm 35 and we have a '53 Ford Crestline Tudor Hard Top. Sungate Ivory on Raven Black. The car's been in our family since it was new. Handed down a couple generations now and still only has 70,110 miles on her. Interior's like new. Some very minor body dings and such. Very nice, I think anyway. It hasn't been licensed since 1986 since I grandfather licenesed it. Now my (and my dad's) turn. We picked it up after Grandma p***ed away about 11 years ago and it's been in the machine shed collecting dust ever since...well, up until two weeks ago. I've been busting my dad's b0ll$ about getting it back on the road where it belongs...especially at his age, he ought to be driving her every where he goes, but he just can't work on 'em anymore...so it's up to me, and I'm pretty pumped about it.

I hauled it up here to Minneapolis, MN and have it in an open two-stall garage that my father-in-law offered up to me to work on it in. (THANKS RANDY!)

I yanked the motor and ****** two weeks ago and they're off to be rebuilt. Now I'm just going through the car, front end, suspension, brakes of course, and freshening up anthything that needs it.

Then it's on with the dual exhaust and enjoy that "flatty".

Glad to join, friends are always nice, especially when they've got the same interests.

Well, that's this story in a nutshell and why I'im here...I think I'll stick around and help others learn from my mistakes (like pressing the hubs out of the drums in order to turn them...I didn't know you were supposed to leave them in and THEN turn them!). So now I'm in the market for some good front drums, since I just bent up the originals. Lesson #1 learned the hard way...hope it's the last.

    Have a great day all!!!

    Mark

    Welcome Mark...

Bunch of good guys on here. Any pics?

I just got rid of a good set of front drums with the stock front end parts that I would have given you. I'll see if the guy that got them is going to use them... if not... I'll let you know and get them to you.

How's it going? I've got a '53 Customline 4dr that I bought up in Montevideo last summer. Let's see some pics! Also, if you need a great resource, I got a cd from retrojim on here for 5 clams and it has all of the parts, diagrams, etc. for 49-59 Fords. It's well worth it and he's a great guy.
