Have a waaaaay different project in the works. Been a Suzuki fan since I drove one as the first vehicle I ever drove as a kid. My Uncle owned it for a long time. Fast forward 20 years and I've so far owned 4 of the little Suzuki pickups. Couple year's back I was extremely lucky and stumbled across and bought a piece of my Uncle's truck, the exact canopy he had on it. Still has the airbrushed grizzly bear murals on it that I will get restored.

I will be building this truck with inspiration from early 30's Ford pickups, traditional style. Here's a rough sketch I did over a few beers one night, as well as a stock one so you know what they look like. Looks like a huge wealth of information and knowledge here that will be appreciated as I tackle this project.

  6. <psst> Ruby81, I think your in the wrong fourm, the HAMB is for 1965 and earlier traditional hot rods & customs...the 1981 Suzuki is way off topic (OT) and likely would not be met wtih friendly replies. Now wanting to do this as a 30's type skin is a cool idea, the underlayment of the Suzuki doesn't fit the guidelines.

mmm...how about making a Suzuki r*t rod? That would go over good here:rolleyes:.
On a related OT subject, I heard Suzuki cars will not be imported into Canada after this year. Good news!!!

Sorry guys/ gals, points taken. I figured I would at least give you the respect of telling you what I will be doing with the knowledge gained here. I could have been a lurker in the shadows and taken away knowledge without first giving the respect of introducing myself and my project, but, my beliefs are rooted in respecting knowledge keepers. I know how it is with newbies and specialized forums, I won't fit in at offroad forums either. I never intended to post dumb*** questions in your forum or do any kind of build thread, but rather do a whole pile of reading and learning.

Anyways, looks like a great site here and I'd like to keep poking around.

So you made a slight error early in your stay here. Not that big a deal as long as you never again mention anything that is off topic. OthErwise The H.A.M.B. police will visit you!! (smiling) Sit back and enjoy it all, however, stay on topic or you'll go down in flames. And, oh, yeah, WELCOME!!
