Hey everyone, I am 19 and from Edmonton Alberta Canada (above montana). I have been into rods and kustoms my whole life, (my dad has been buildings kustoms since the late 50's) and none of this cookie cutter fluff ****, its all traditional home built in the backyard by a bunch of redneck farm kids. i have two prjects on the go right now, one is my daily driver, 63 Ford f-100, Z'd 6 inches up front, axle flipped in the rear, 8' stepside box had been shortened to 5', loads of kustom body work and a big o'l 460 dumped between the wheel wells, i race it at the street drags here in town it runs low 15's at 91 mph, not bad for a farm truck, and the other project is a 27 ford pick up, powered by a 239 flathead, i'm building it to race at the track also, i'm hoping to run 13's with it and keep it as light as possible (around 1400 lbs). Even though i am building it to race i am still trying to keep it as period perfect as possible, the motor is from a 51 F-1, the rear end is a 53 mercury, home built frame, 48 chev steering column, beer keg fuel tank, the only new part is the ******, which is a four speed out of a 83 mustang, and its only cause it was laying in the yard at home and it is twice as light as the F-1 4 spd, and cause bow low 1st gear just isnt cool. But anyways thats whats happening in my backyard way up in the north.
Welcome neighbor.....not sure if it is 'cool' to welcome new people when you are still a 'FNG'! But your local so screw 'em I ***ume that you are doing street drags at the Budwieser park? I was not aware that they had cl***es for the cool cars; shoot me a e-mail next time your heading down there, may make it a must attend! Greg. Red Deer.
