Long time lurker, never posted. I'm located in a small city called Richland Hills (not to be confused with North Richland Hills), near Fort Worth. I come from the aircooled VW world (hence "BeelzeBUG"), which I understand to be the bane of all HAMBers. I recently bought a '66 Ford F-100, which doesn't meet the standard definition of a traditional hot rod in any way-- post-'64, and it's a pick-up. But I'm building it to be fairly traditional-- it's already low and reasonably fast, but it's my daily driver (currently off the road for some repairs that have taken longer than anticipated). Current setup is a 302ci mated to a C4, 4.10s in the rear. Lowered with drop spindles, with a twin I-beam. It's as low as it can go with the current setup-- right at scrub line. Rear is lowered via swapping springs/axle. One of the previous owners had a quality flat black paint job, but the previous owner preferred patina and used steel wool all over it to make it look old. He also painted the roof white. That will be going away in the long term, but there are mechanical things I'd rather focus on first. I have a lot of plans for the pickup, and I'm pretty stoked about it, but it's going to be a long, slow process.
