There is only one junkyard with older cars that is near glasgow. Some old man owns it. It is in Greene County, I believe? It is on the edge of the Metcalfe and Greene County line. I have been through it once with a guy I work with. He lives only about a quarter a mile away from the place. All of his older stuff was in the back of the field. Had a cuple of shoebox fords, 55-56 chevys, and some other cars. Not a whole lot left of the cars. Tried to go there one day when I was off work to just look around again. Guy wouldn't let me look around because he didn't know me. A real pain. There use to be one right on the outskirts of glasgow. I think Causey's from Bowling Green came in, bought them out and crushed everything. A shame too. It was one of those junkyards where a person would help themselves. Had to take the parts of by yourself too. I work at Jeffries Auto Salvage in Metcalfe County. Pretty big place and around 25-30 acres. We only deal in late model stuff. Every once in a while someone would call in asking if we would buy an old car that is sitting around. Owner doesn't like to buy old cars.
Forget to mention a great story that happened at work one day. I was in the office working and a fellow employee had just hung up the phone. He asked me if I would be interested in a 1965 Riveria for a $1000 bucks. Said it came with a complete parts car. The guy who was wanting to sell it said that it was his dad's and that he was in bad health and needed to get rid of it. I asked my co- worker if he got the phone number where i could call about it. He said that no he didn't. I thought about asking him why in the hell was he even telling me this when he didn't have the phone number. Made me madder than a cat. Had a 64 or 65 nova that had been wrecked in the front and could of got for 50 bucks. The guy I worked with forgot that i fooled around with old cars and told the caller that nobody at Jeffries wasn't interested. Can't seem to get things through some peoples thick skulls.
