Hi! My name is Rick Hartpence,I'm 40,married with a daughter and a stepson My family has been in the car hobby for three generations we've mostly messed with muscle cars since I've been alive. I've got a 69 Camaro that I've owned since I was a sophomore in 86. A couple years ago I redid my grandpa's 65 El Camino. He'd had since 69 or so, and a coulple years after he p***ed away, in 05 I wound up with it. I autocrossed for a few years. Still have the Miata. My latest project is a 55 GMC series 1 pickup. Putting it on an S10 frame. The old truck I picked up it fairly rust free, and its paint is aged to perfection. I've been going to swap.meets for years, but have found its a lot more fun when you don't really know what the parts your looking for came on, but knowing that their what your looking for when you see em. I've done wiring, built engines & transmissions, welded sheelmetal, and done paint and bodywork. I've fabricated parts and a few stories. I'm also very lucky to have my dad still around when a got a question about any thing. Hope I can offer some good opinions and ask a few questions. From what I've read I'd seems like a pretty friendly group here!
Welcome Rick from Florida. Sounds like you have been at it for awhile. Lees Summit is home to one of the Best Pinstripers in the world namely Bob Bond. I have watched him do his magic a few times and he is one of the best in the business and his Auto Art Magazine is a must read for anyone interested in pinstriping. Hope you enjoy the HAMB. Jimbo
