Greetings to everyone, happy to be here, it's always great to find people that love hot rods and customs. My first hot rod was a 1951 Ford Victoria. The Ford came into the High School (Downey High Modesto CA) junior year auto shop cl*** I was in back in 1963 and was supposed to be torn apart and junked out. I asked the teacher if I could have the car instead of seeing it destroyed. He fixed it so I could get the pink slip (no easy matter) letting me have the car for my shop project. That year I cut my teeth on flat head engines and body work. Great memories and the greatest shop teacher ever. I retired in 2001 and I continue to enjoy building hot rods and customs. I hope to have my new shop built this spring. Life couldn't get any better than this.

    Hi to all,
I am finally retired, almost three years now from teaching and taking care of other peoples wants, desires and problems. Now it is time for me to take care of mine, and my wife does agree! I learned my craft as a hot rodder from the back alley garages of buck town in Chicago. Had to leave that all behind more years ago than I like to admit. However, here I am again. I have a stock 71 super beetle in the works just for fun and to drive around. But my main focus now is a 1941 original chevy pickup that I have had for 15+ years. It is very tired. Just had a 283 rebuild and had some snort added to it and now will install it into my 41. I had done this same swap back in 66' in high school but have forgotten most of what we did, except install a stock 3 duce setup. Ran pretty fair as I recall. Planning on swapping the stock three speed for a standard saginaw 3 speed and will change rear ends also. Not sure what to do in that area as of yet. I would take suggestions for this part of the swap. Just want to make a sleeper that will light up the pavement as I did, occasionally, 45 years ago. I'm stuck on in a time warp and just can't get out. Happens with age.
Any help I would appreciate and look forward to some serious chatting in the future. I need to figure out if we can post photos.
    Catch ya later!
