hello all, ive been lurking for a little while now, and have decided to take the plunge and break the ice.... i currently own a 93 ford flareside, and a 78 chevy stepvan i bought the ford about a year ago, and have been tinkering with it ever since, and i am actually going to pick up the stepvan as soon as the weather decided to cooperate... the stepvan is destined for greatness as the GOBURGER van of the future, im pooling all my self taught knowledge of the cullinary arts and going back into business for myself... anyway, heres a couple pics of my ol' girls, hope to learn lots, share more, and maybe even sprinkle a little of my own knowledge around. heres my current project, hopefully i can get some good advice here as to where to track down parts

well lets see..... just because what i own is 34 years old, and not 64 years old doesnt mean i dont appreciate what most of you have here. and as far as the truck..... well, i like showing her off, she is in 99% perfect shape for 17 years old, and i plan on keeping her that way for a long time to come. back the the van..... way i see it, custom is custom, it shouldnt really matter how old the sheet metal is, if its american made, and can be worked on with simple hand tools, and most importantly, is a blank canvas for an automotive artist, and is older then most on the road it sort of fits the bill so to say..... no, she doesnt have the classic fins of an old shoebox, or the sweeping curved lines of an old desoto........ in fact, she is kind of boxy, and a little bit ugly, but she is mine, and now that ive got her home she is going to be the be all end all of my free time. lol, now if the last half of that paragraph isnt a perfect fit for most of you on here i dont know what is ........... i was warned about joining up on here..... was told your a bunch of elitist douche bags that were worse then the local old ladies quilting club....... what was my response??.....naa, traditional car guys man, a bunch of shade tree, home brewed mechanics and hot rod engineers, who are doing it like my dad use to do it... my kind of people, i should fit in fine..... i dunno, maybe they were right and i am wrong....time will tell i reckon.... Oliver, you were the only one who gave a half ass'd welcome, so hello to you sir! to the rest of ya, just pretend this is the home shopping network channel, click your remotes right on past it.... and to be honest, im probably not going to paint a big green rat fink on the side, but i do plan on side pipes and old school rims...... maybe some moonies, i dunno....she will progress as "rolling" project
