Hi Everybody, I'm the new guy from New Jersey. I majored in Pontiacs with a minor in AMCs and Jeeps. My current oldie is a '53 Pontiac Chieftain Special that I am in the process of freshening up a '52 straight eight for. We've also got a '76 Pontiac Grand Safari wagon for family fun. I've been around the hobby for a while now and was the senior editor of High Performance Pontiac Magazine back in the early '90s. My wife and 5-year old daughter are behind me 100% and go to car shows and help me work on the relics whenever they can. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you and hopefully I can lay some knowledge on some of you.
Thanks for the warm reception. I'm from the Phillipsburg area of Warren county...just a stone's throw from the Delaware river. Lucky for us we're on very high ground so the flooding that the area has endured the last few years has no shot at us.
Mrak, We used to go a lot, but lately, not so much. Niether of our oldies are running right now so I'm not as inspired to go and see other folks having fun with their old cars when I can't. My straight eight is half-way back together and our Safari just needs a tranny seal to put it back in the game (of course the trans has to come out to get to it), so hopefully we'll see some action in the next few weeks. Bart
Welcome Bart, I'm another Pontiac guy from Jersey. Here's a couple shots of the engine getting stuffed way back in my 55.
Hey.. welcome from Sussex county. Was in Phillipsburg last week to check out that u-pull-it place on river road but they just crushed out the week before so i was bummed after the 1 hour ride. If you go there, keep me updated when some older stuff shows up. John
