Just checking in from Philly area. I have been lurking around here for a while and figured it would be time to say hello.

I recently picked up a '37 Ford truck that was parked in a small garage since '68. Payed a bit too much for it, but it is fairly clean and that is tough to find around Philly. It has a later model flathead, '51 I think. New plugs, points, cap, and rotor and she fired right up! I installed a new fuel tank, ordered a new aluminum radiator, installed new wheel cylinders and brake plumbing, new king pins, new water pumps, and going over anything to make it roadworthy as is. I should have the radiator tomorrow, so hopefully I can bolt it in and roadtest the old girl.

    Here she is...

Just drove the old girl for the first time. I'm sure my neighbors love the open pipes. She's got a few issues, but what a ride!

I am usually there with my military truck. I doubt the Ford will make it there this season, I think the trans is trashed.

I hope to get new springs/shocks, tires, and exhaust done this week. I'll see what kind of stuff I can find at Macungie today.

    New radiator installed

From Langhorne, welcome to the HAMB. As information to all, Langhorne's car show is September 12, beginning at 3 pm on Maple Ave.

Would like to see that 37 at the show.

I need wheels and tires. From what I gather, it will take 3-4 weeks for the whitewalls to arrive. I have no clue what wheels are currently on the truck, but one is a different offset from the rest. If I can get them squared away, along with exhaust and other misc stuff, the truck will be there. If not, I will be in the military truck.

Come back to PA. Inspection is no bad. Get a street rod tag, and you might not need it.

Took the truck for another ride around the block again today. This will be a fun truck for sure,

Had my first problem today. After 5 days of driving this truck EVERYWHERE...the carb had something hang up and flooded out of nowhere, just died and left me roadside. She dumped fuel on the hot engine, resulting in a small fire:eek: No big deal, out with a quick shot of the extinguisher. I'll be visiting the Carb Doctor tomorrow for a rebuild kit.
