Hi everybody! I have been snooping around on the HAMB for a while without introducing myself because I felt I did not have much to offer. Now, I finally have a project. I latched onto a chopped-top 1949 Ford that I will use for drag racing. In the 1960's I drove a 1931 Ford with a Packard engine and I have not been able to pull myself away from Packard V8s. For several Bonneville Nationals events in the 1980s, I was a course steward on the salt. Got to know guys like Peter Dean, Bob Higbee, Griggs and many others. I have not been to the salt since 1987. Gary Cagle and I used to set up the photocells. Gary was down to one hand and one eye. He referred to me as his 'Left Hand man'. Anyway, glad to come to the HAMB. Tons of great talent here. You sheet metal guys are something else.
Welcome!! I hope you like to type!! You probably have books of storys about the salt we would love to here!!!Pete
