Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster... I finally decided to join up after reading a couple of the threads on Goodwood, in the past most of the threads I had seen were on the suede and whitewalls lifestyle and after seeing the interest and and fascination by the members with cars of all periods and styles, I figured it was time to take the plunge. My name is Jon, I live in North Texas on the edge of Prosper and Celina. I am currently working to finish my first street rod, a 1937 Ford 'vert. I am hoping to have it done next month finances permitting (!) I got hooked on cars as a teenager looking through old hot rods and rodder magazines at my best friends lake house. By the time high school rolled around I was into muscle cars and the first car bought with my own money was a '69 Camaro that I bought off my cousin. It was a bit of a piece of **** objectivly looking back on it, but I loved that car no matter, and I spent a lot of time working on it. After graduationg high school the realities of life and college forced me to retire the camaro and move on to something else, and at the time (late 80s) I moved on to mini trucks. I drove that until as my daily driver for 10 years and then stepped it on up to a 2000 Audi S4 that I put coilovers on and did track days in for a few years. Damn fun car and I learned quick how addictive the boosht can be. The street rod gods dictated that I sell it to fully fund my addiction for the '37 that I have been working on for 5 years to try and complete, which is hopefully real soon now. My tastes in vehicles is pretty ecclectic, if its got a motor, its pretty much all right with me... Look forward to bench racin' with ya'll real soon.
