Bob Ferguson from the Ottawa Valley (eastern Ontario), CDA. In my early 50s been into hot rods since I was 13. Had tons of vehicles over the years including 55 Chev Sedan delivery, 49 Ford w/flat head V8 w/offy intake, 38 Plymouth, 48 Chev coupe w/350-350, 46 Dodge p.u Bob . plus a few V-Dubs including a Karman Ghia and a double cab transporter. Currently building a 54 F100 mild custom (list of mods as long as your arm). Have been a regular on the FTE site for about 4 years but have lurked here a little bit off and on. My preference leans to mild customs chopped tops, nosed, decked, frenched, very little chrome .subtle body mods. Love 48 to 51 GM fast backs and sedanettes (and 53/54 Studes) but the 54 F100 will likely be my last build Later,
welcome from more eastern Ontairo so you have been around a bit do you remember Valley Classics and Ottawa Street Rods run up in Almonte?. Got any pics of your domestic stuff see if I reconize any of it.
Screwball, Although I'm only 6 miles from Almonte, I havn't been to their show in years. We have a pretty good one here in Carleton Place around 6/25 every year - about 350 vehicles and I always do Merrickville. I try to do cruise night in Kanata 2 - 3 times every year, but other than that just hang with the boys here in C.P. at their "cruise" night. Mine is still 2 years from being road worthy. Got a long way to go.....
hi Ferguson 777; welcome aboard from down by London, On..The home of Nostalgia drag racing..(ONDR) I used to hang out at the FTE site, but sold the F100 several years ago.
What am i running for a drivetrain, you asked? 1990 5.0L with an AOD. Mildly warmed up - Truck intake with spacer and cam for low end torque. Ported and polished intake and heads plus windage tray and roller rockers for efficiency. Shorty headers and a shift kit. While the engine runs SD-EFI, I am using a harness from the Detail Zone with the early Mustang ECU to fire it sequentially rather than batch or bank fire. Certainly not a powerhouse but at $4.50 plus per gallon and the new, serious penalties for what they now term street racing, those days are gone.
