My name is Alex and I am new to the HAMB from a small town in Iowa. Bought this 1950 Chevy style line deluxe with plans to keep it a period correct hotrod. Do what we could have been done in the 50's to hotrod this thing! It had been sitting for several years due to the previous owner passing away before he could complete it. He had done an ok job getting the body to look decent, 10 footer at best, and had re-gasketed the original 216. Interior was in need of complete overhaul. This is what I have done to the car since owning her: Replaced brakes all around from master cylinder to drums Flushed fuel system Cleaned and lined tank Rebuilt the carb Replaced seat foam and new covers Sound deadener and new carpet Put on new door cards New wheels and wide white walls (radials) Upcoming plans in order (I think): Replace the engine with a "warmed up" 235 (more details to come on that) Convert to a t5 Rear end Finish up some of the interior work (headliner, clean up the dash, repaint the window trim pieces, etc.) Electric wiper motor conversion Clean up body work and repaint The engine is a 1955 235 from a truck. I bought it from a guy almost 8 years ago for another project that is long gone that said it had been rebuild not too long ago but needed some work. Tore it down and it looked bad. Like really bad. So I sent the block, head, and crank out to get worked to the machine shop. Head was re done with hardened seats and all new parts and the block was bored 80 over line bored and decked and whatever else they thought it needed. Then it set for 7 more years just waiting to be put together. I bought this Chevy and decided it was time to build this motor. So the motor is currently on my home built engine break in stand and sounds excellent. Just need some more run time on the engine to make sure there are no problems or developing leaks and it will be in the car within the next month. There are a few pics below of the car and the engine. Thanks for looking and I love the information I have already found on this forum! All the knowledge and expertise is going to be very helpful and is much appreciated! My husky loves going to car shows with me! Listen to that cam working!
