Hi all. Long time Hotroder and Racer here. Fell in love with Rods and Race cars around 1949. Had to wait 6 more years to drive one but had my first car at 14 ( 35 chev two door ) Had to pay a wopping $35.00 for it with a bad Trans, Found another one for $16.00 and made a sweet runner out of the two. 1957 found me working for Uncle Sam in the USAF as a aircraft mech in Califorina. Thought I was in Hot Rod heaven and continued with my love of cars then. I was the only GI allowed to join the Local Car Club in Vacaville Calif. ( The NIGHTHAWKS ) I had a 40 ford sedan with a full house Flathead and straight pipes that could be heard clear across town.1960 found me back in Seattle with a 34 Ford 2 door driver that was MINT ( cost $175.00 ) and a 40 Ford hard top race car that I bought for $35.00. That was the start of my Racing career. I started driving Sprint cars for others in 62 and built my own car that I ran from 67 to 69. In 69 I won the Championship for the Northwest and started a business building Sprint cars and rods. I retired from active Sprint car racing in 85 (Got way to spendy! ) Since then I built a Olds Quad 4 powerd Track "T" Street leagle. And Have been Restoring and Racing Vintage Sprint Cars and Midgets. We have a group( 8 ) of Flathead powered Track roadsters here that drive to the races, Pull off the Headlights and go for it on the local Dirt tracks.Oops out of room, Looking forward to FUN on H.A.M.B.
Welcome, Jerry ! You and I have a lot in common. I'll bet you know my chatroom buddy, Pete Samuelson.
