hey guys, im new to the boards, though i would introduce myself. the name is trey, i live in cheyenne, wyoming. doin time in the us air force. ive been into rods almost all my life, always liked them, always will.

i just got started on a 28 dodge. not too sure what i will do with it, but its mine now. i have an old stude 6cyl that id like to use on it, but who knows.

i know there probably arent many dodge guys out there, but i figured id post, and see what happens.

  2. Stude 6 in a 28 Dodge Bros? That's the kind of demented thinking we really like around here.

Welcome aboard and thanks for your service to the country.

Cheyenne, huh? "Just up the road" from me...

Sure you want to use that Stude six in the Dodge? I have the whole (Broadmoor) station wagon...with a V8, for you if you want a Stude. Vintage 1957...four doors, no waiting...you'll fit rite in...bring cash!

FWIW, welcome...only one part of the Stude will suffice if that's all ya got!!!

i figured id go with the stude six, just because, how often do you see that? i guess about as often as a stude 8, heh. plus, that stude six has some pretty crazy setups on it, such as the water pump. really makes ya wonder.

we had though about going with a lycoming 4 cyc that came out of an IH truck or tractor, not sure which. picked it up at an auction for 2.50, with tranny, which happens to be a muncie. if i remember correctly, we found casting dates on it, 1922. however, when we started to tear it down, one cyl is cracked, bad, and one piston is blown through. both fixable, but worth it? i dunno.
