Was told about this site and find it right on target. Have been playing around with cars for 50+ years. Ran a 57 Poncho in the Central Valley in 59,60 and 61. Also ran a 55 Chevy street car at Sears Pt and Baylands/Fremont in early 80's-still have it after 34 years. About 7 years ago started playing with 40 Coupes done in the traditional way-have one now and am finishing one for my son. Also have a 57 BelAir FI car in pieces that I've owned on and off for 32 years. Recently retired and hope now to have more time to enjoy this stuff. As a side note, Richard Brown who was mentioned in Street Rodder as the Barefoot flagman was our neighbor in Madera in about 55/56.
more junk from Norcal--the 55 mentioned earlier we have had for 34 years--used to be our main car and ran it too. The blue 40 just got--not a bad car--axle,350/350,sound body--will put away til $$ permit a redo--good 40's are tough to get even in Ca. --will redo it similar to the cloudmist gery one in the pics
