New guy in the house

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by 54Chevy Lead SLed, Nov 4, 2007.

  1. Hi,

I think that's a good time to introduce my self.

My name is Wojtek and I coming from Poland. I have been in US cars for many years. It is my biggest p***ion. I organized 5 biggest American Car Shows in my country. I can imagine that no one here at HAMB forum was expecting cars like that in Poland but hot rods and customs maniacs are every were.

I always loved custom cars so when I found custom Chevy Bel Air 1954 on English Ebay I just went there and bought it straight.
I been told that Bel Air was build about 20 years ago in USA then sold to UK where been used for a while and then was keeping in barn storage for about 15 years. It is not running but when I saw it I just fall in love.
I ship it to Poland and now I am working on it. I bought brand new engine and some custom accessories, front suspension and brakes. Now I am waiting for engine and hopefully I will make it running this year.
It needs a lot of attention but it's definitely worth it.

As far as I know it was build by Richard Glymph.
Maby someone on this forum knows that car and has some more interesting information about it?

    Best Regards
    Wojtek

Welcome aboard. Just saw Richard yesterday at Jalopyrama in Glen Burnie, MD. U.S.A. Can't personally confirm if your car was built by him. I know he once had a beautiful "54 Chevy, but as far as I know it's still in this area. Does anyone out there have any knowledge of this car? I'm guessing he'd be shocked to find out that a car he formerly built was now residing in Poland! Good luck w/ the car. Keep us posted with the progress.

  3. I am not 100% sure that this one was build by Mr. Richard but it is looking very, very similar so I wish to find out the history of my car.

Really got me wondering just how many rods and/or customs have found their way out of the country after being constructed here. Ryan, any chance we could move this thread to the main board? Your consideration is appreciated. Thanks, lothiandon1940.
