After several attempts and posting my intro on the General Discussion page, maybe I've found the right place to introduce myself. Again. I go by Chris, although my "handle" is my full name, Lowell C. Miller. Might change that to something catchier. I live in southwest Missouri with my wife of 13 years, and work in the tourism/amusement/attractions segment of the economy, specifically as a ride maintenance technician. We recently bought a 1-acre piece of property that came with its very own 1951 Buick Special coupe. I've never really been a huge fan of older cars; '60's-to-'80's American muscle and European sports cars have always been more my cup of coffee. But something about this Buick got me started doing some homework. Although the Super Sedanette was initially the body style I could have gone steady with, the fact that the car in my possession was a "45R" Riviera hardtop made it appealing enough to want to do a little somethin' with it. So, maybe I can convince the wife that I'm not really attached to it if I spend a little time and money on the car but keep a "For Sale" sign in one of the windows. Unfortunately, I've already given the car a name, and just like with a dog, once you name it, you're probably going to want to keep it. I've already got more projects than I am able to throw appropriate time and money at. Three plastic mid-engined Pontiacs, a Volkswagen Fox, a first-year Bronco II and a 1983 Suzuki GS650 Franken-cycle are more than enough to keep me busy. But keep your eyes open for a build thread on a Carlsbad Special in the near future. My misplaced introduction elsewhere has got enough responses to make me feel very welcome here.
