Hi Everybody, I was directed here from JeffB who has helped me out tremendously this weekend on my 302 swap. Its great to see a group devoted to these cars. I'm excited to read previous posts and hopefully throw my help in the mix where I'm useful. My car is 54 ford Vicky. I purchased it two years ago and have been picking away at it as of late. Most recently I'm swapping a 292 y block with a blown head gasket out for a 302/c4 combination. Jeff helped me with clearance issues in the pan and hopefully next weekend after parts arrive, I'll be (re)hoisting the motor into the car. Nice to meet everyone. Rob
welcome to the group. thats a good swap to make these a real nice reliable driver . tons of info here like im sure youve read already.
Welcome to the best bunch of car nuts that you may never meet!!! This site is the first place I go when I get on the computer each day just to see what is going on and many times I learn something..... something my wife says can't happen!
Rob , Welcome to the best group on the HAMB ! There is a wealth of information in our group and if there is anything you have trouble with or something you are thinking that might or might not work just make a post and you will get the answers to your question that you might like or won't like . We try to kept ever thing on the level and the best way we have all found out how to do things so we can help everyone else we can to make there engine swap or rebuild much easier than some of the other ones we have all seen that aren't the best and safest way to do things . So just feel at home , prop up your feet and ask away ! We all do the same thing from time to time around here . The 302 and C4 is a very common swap . I am doing the same swap with my 55 Fairlane fordor . I got the Lincoln engine mounts and now we are all trying to figure out the best way to get headers to fit without totally building our own set . I will be using Tri Y headers from an 66 Mustang for mine . Still need to make them fit but seem to be the easiest so far . It really depends on how you want to run your headers after the flange ! Jim
