My name is Roy. I live in Marysville, OH currently. I also recently acquired a 54 Mercury Monterey. It has already been modified into somewhat of a custom. Shaved door handles, frenched antenna, Louvered hood, Lowered in the rear, etc.

The guy that I got it off of took the engine and transmission out of an 86 Mustang. He has told me that both are rebuilt and as of right now, the driveshaft isn't hooked up to the 9" rear end. Most of the rest of the car is in shambles. Someone modded it and drove it and then let it sit.

I'm figuring that it is going to need at least a wiring harness, driveshaft cut/installed, wheel bearings, brakes, and shocks to get it on the road. then comes the body work, interior, and so on.

This isn't my first project. I have done multiple motor cycles and also had a 67 C10 a few years back. I like the style it has already. So, I'm probably going to stick with the vibe it has when I start working on it. I really want to make it into a nice daily driver that doesn't kill me in gas mileage. Here are some pictures from Tuesday.

Thanks a lot guys! Hopefully I can find some people from the Columbus area that I can hook up with. I've been living here for 6 months now and there doesn't seem to be a huge hot rod scene here. Maybe it's underground? Anyway, I've been lurking on here for a few years and now since I have a relevant project, I felt I should make my membership official. I know you guys will be able to offer great advice and encouragement when needed.
