I have been working on cars for over 40 years and have built several hot rods and currently am building a 59 Studebaker Hawk. I am interested in doing a gentelmans chop by sinking the windshield down into the cowl. If anyone has done it this way I would appreciate any input as to what problems I might encounter. I have chopped the top on my 47 Ply so I'm not totally ignorant as to the amount of work involved.

I have a 62 Hawk and I am considering chopping the top. Yes, I'd like to see pictures of the process. Somebody out there?

  6. Aw...the ole' chop top...everyone should do it at least once! Measure, draw, tape and cut (I use the 4 1/2 cut off wheel on an electric angle grinder, tried the sawsall once and didn't like the finish edge). Be sure to post photos along the way!
