Welcome aboard! Oh... What was it you thought might make some of us mad? The Chevy motor? Not hardly. Take a look at my '52 Victoria build. It's all Chevy under the skin! I'm looking forward to more posts - and photos - of your 'wagon. Eric
Eric, you know how those guys on the main board can be about SBC's in a Ford I had to tease him just a tad, Thanks for letting Ken feel loved! LOL!! Jeff
Welcome. You'll find that you won't get any static in this group- all really nice guys. Oh yeah- I know it's been mentioned before- we LOVE pics!
i know alot of the **** i get thrown at me is in good fun but some of it is almost fightin words!mostly on the main board and by the old timers.but i like the responces i got here about my chevy heart. hell i dont care whats under the hood of a car as long as its made in the USAi will post pics as soon as i can get someone here to do it for me. i can do almost anything to a car or bike but i can barely turn on a computer right.and for some reason my pics are ****tered all over this computer. its gonna take awhile to find the ones i want, but i promice to post as soon as i can.. thanks for the welcome boys. ken
You're right, Ken. A lot of guys on the main board get pretty flamed out over off-brand transplants, especially putting a Chevy in a Ford. I suspect most of them have "pure" projects...out beside the garage under a blue tarp that hasn't been lifted in years! They'd rather sit in their ba*****t in their underwear in the glow of their computer screen and stir up trouble for the real active enthusiasts like yourself. Don't even give 'em a thought. Eric
Ken, While I personally prefer my cars to be Ford/Ford, Chevy/Chevy, Blah, blah, blah, what it comes down to it is my name isn't on the ***le and if your happy with it, I wouldn't worry about what others think...
I agree with you guys. Anyone who gives me grief about my engine choices immediately looses credibility with me and I start ignoring them. I almost put a Chevy 350 in my 54 because I had a good one handy but ended up using a 302 because of the ease of the transplant. In the end however it was my car and my choice and anyone who would spend time flaming my choice is just a jack*** who probably feels the need to criticize due to some personal SHORTcoming
Once again, the people in this group are the voice of reason. You fellas got it right- and I agree with Outlaw- as long as it was made in the USA, how could it be wrong? I know that if I came upon a cool car without an engine, and it was a great price, AND it wasn't a Chev, I would throw a sbc in there without thinking twice. They're readily available, inexpensive, easy to get parts for- hop 'em up.
Hey Ken... I got a chevy in my ford! Don't tell anyone! I have built many fords with all the same running gear in them!!!! Welcome to the club.
YEP!thats my son leaning on my car.if you seen a long haired guy with a ponytail and walkin on a cane that be me.i remember that car. i wanted it!!!nice ride!!!!!!wish we would have met.oh well . there will be more rumbles to come.me and the old girl(car, not wife)are going to start going to alot more.
