Been reading various forums for a while w/ nothing much to say....still don't have much to say, but I'm getting an old mildly rodded 37 Ford back on the road and may have a few questions.... We used a 38 frame and set up a new MII front w/ 9" rear-end ready for LT1 SBC, etc. But that will have to wait for another body. Decided to leave this one w/ straight axle, stock rear...
Welcome. Good luck with your projects. We are doing a '35 pickup with the MII 9" 302/C4. Its coming along. I'm kind of wishing he would have left it alone. It had a 100 hp flatty, juice brakes and really nice shiny black paint job 28 years ago when he got it. I could see well enough then to drive it. The trans was noisy, but it drove great. He took it apart and it hasn't been together since.
Yea, my dad has had the 37 since mid fifties, and we decided that we didn't want to change it and then wish we hadn't. So we're going to leave this one traditional, and intact. The flat head froze and cracked in the early 60s, and has had a sbc w/ stock diveline since. When timing coincides with available dollars, would like to return to flathead power. I'll store the modern chasis and someday find another body.... or maybe not.
