Hi Guys, this is Floyd in Memphis. Attended the drags at MOKAN last weekend, first time ever. Bown away with everything; ratrods, flatheads (there were more flatheads than I can ever remember seeing!), and 'great people!!!! Hope to go to Texas in Oct.
I am looking for help/ideas/suggestions. The '47 is currently set up strictly for the dragstrip (427, fender-well headers, TH400, 9 inch, S10 pickup frame, 33x16x16 slicks, mustang steering, manual brakes, 11.02 in quarter [not fast but it scares this old man!]). I am now in the process of converting it back to the street, with POWER BRAKES. The 1965 chev pickup had a power brake system that used a 'bell-crank' mechanism and wedge spacer that bolted between the firewall and the brake booster. I THINK this 'bell-crank/wedge' is what I need to clear the headers and valve covers (6 inch engine setback). Then maybe use a chevette or chevelle booster w/ vette master cylinder. All comments, etc. would much appreciated. Floyd.
