Hi all, I just started a project that involves getting a 36 Ford Coupe back on the street. It was a friend's grandfather's car, which was later driven by his father, then parked in a barn in Ohio decades ago. The car is now in California, and interestingly is owned by one of the guys credited with the discovery of the Higgs-Boson particle, aka the God Particle. Our goal is to make it safe and reliable, without restoring it or hot rodding it. It has a V8 flathead that was restored years ago but never run, and a rebuilt transmission that has yet to be installed. Overall the car is in great shape, except for a rear fender and we have a replacement for it. The paint is in generally good shape, although there are a lot of spots where rust is coming through. There are no plans to paint the car. The owner wants to drive the car his father drove. He has some 30s vintage clothing he plans to wear when doing so. This is my first vintage Ford project. I usually work on cl***ic Opels (GT, Manta, Ascona) and I race a GT in the 24 Hours of Lemons. I'll be hanging our here for a bit trying to learn what I can about these cars and get tips that will help us get it back on the road. Mike
