hey all. check out my profile to see why I'm here. trying to find a place where I might fit in. Not sure if my idea will work or is even worth trying. anyway looks like a fun forum with a catchy name so why not try, huh? also, internet time will be, uh, variable, so if I don't get back to any of you right away, please don't take offense...
Hi, Well, you are a little off to one side of the center of topics on this board, but there are those of us with Nortons. I'm the "Dictator for Life" of the Twin Cities Norton Owners Club and have been playing with them for about 28 years. Many of us are into "orphans" and have cool outside the box rods (Lot of Studes.....). You might go here: http://www.motorbyte.com/norton/ for something to kill time while deployed. Join the INOA. Get a manual for a Mark III and memorize it. Get the tech manual from the INOA. Whatever you do, don't mess with the wheel size or front suspension. The isoelastic frame is "tuned" and you need to understand it. This is one of the sweetest handling bikes with the most incredible sound (you need Dunstall Decible silencers). Building a chopper style bike out of one of these will only get you laughed at, but building a very lean, blacked out, cafe' racer will get applause. You are welcome to contact me off list. advo@comcast.net
hey thanks guys for the sites and the replies. i'll check them out and be in touch as time permits. I do have the CD with the Mark III for reference while I'm gone. With the right input from the internet world, hopefully I won't build a laughing stock of a motorcycle.
