You guys have heard this story before... too many projects, not enough time or money... but it doesn't seem to stop me from acquiring more. This is the latest, nabbed off ebay yesterday: Assuming I survive telling my bride that I've "done it again" I'll be attempting to bring this back to its former glory.
The only info the seller has is that he believes it was built by a fellow named Hawkins in Texas for his granddaughter. He may or may not have created other midgets for his other grandkids. It originally had an Austin Bantam drivetrain but that's gone. It was being used as a planter (giant flowerpot) in a lady's yard until it was rescued. He was going to put a riding lawnmower drivetrain in it, but his health deteriorated before he had a chance. I'm going to drag it home, do some research and accumulate some parts before I tear into it.
I'll start a build thread when I start the project... I joined this board because I bought that car and the car is far more interesting that I am.
I own a 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Deluxe that my great-grandfather purchased new, a 1966 Checker Aerobus, a 1970 Mustang sportsroof that needs a complete restoration, a 1970 Jeep Wagoneer Custom that I'm building as a daily driver, another full size Jeep that I'm building as a trail rig, a 1985 CJ7 that is restored and now this little beastie. I think every town should have a drive in and a dairy bar, that men should open car doors for women and neon is for signs, not imports.

I was watching that one on ebay too. Didn't bid, but it was tempting. Too many other projects, otherwise I might have bid. I'm definitely interested to see what you can make of it. Should be a really cool little rat rod at the least.
That thing looks really interesting! More details - PLEASE!!!! Mart3406 =======================================
