When I'm looking through the classified's I see these abbreviation's...pm,,,btt,,,bttt and others is there some kinda map I'm missing somewhere or is like texting, cause I am not very good at that either

how does bump send your add back to the top

 

Replying sends your ad, or in the case of this msg, back to the top of page 1. It bumps the ad or thread up.

@ iwanaflattie I am building a 36 ford truck, not really trying to stay period perfect but I have my own idea's. I still need parts, been in the offroad racing side for about 20+ years now just trying to have some real fun and enjoy some things

WOW!! imagine that a place where an american car guy gets hated on! Guess I should have looked at the RULES! I have been to many a car show and have seen a mix of cars but never heard one thing about such segragation between car enthusiast's I was merely looking to get into a forum where people like people for what they do. You know a tradional hot rod is not out of the question but I want to start with something easy first, if this is your way on this forum then you can have it.

I have no problem admitting That I broke a RULE I just didnt know ! I want to thank all you guys that were nice until I used those words.

 

The general feeling on the board is a Rat is unsafe POS cobbled together with chicken wire and duct tape. Not every member of the board is a high-end builder and many a first time rod apear here (my first time mild custom included) but we all share a love of traditional rods and customs and the quality and safety that goes along with them. Since you are new to the game perhaps you mislabeled your project. Run/hide if you want or take the time to understand where these guys are coming from - you might be happy you did.

@ cederholm, ok You got my attention with the "run and hide thing", My truck is a 2x4 box frame with 1 3/4 tube crossmembers it has a 9" rear end, the sheet metal on the cab is either mig or tig welded, I want to build a bomber bench if there is such a thing. Its not chicken wire and beer bottles. Maybe I just need to be schooled in what a R*t R*d is compared to a bare metal hotrod that I cant decide on what it should look Like, sorry if I offened anybody but this seems like an informative sight

It is a very informative site. I hope this doesn't come across a rude but sometimes you need to sit back and watch for a while before you jump in with both feet to get up to speed with the way things are done around here. I noticed you were warned in your introduction thread about the use of the term and either didn't see it or decided not heed the warning you now know the consequences.

For the most part the vast majority of the people here are super nice and helpful but you have to play by the rules and no rat rods is close to the top.

One of the big problems and one of the reason the r word is so loathed here is it has become a catch all for the general public for every hot rod style build they see and it offends guys that build actual hot rods.

You will need a thick skin at times for this place but there is no more informative site of the internet.

Sounds like you want to build a Hot Rod truck to me. Lots of great bare metal rods around do some digging around the site. You might also want to take some photos of that you have and post them on a new tread with a request for ideas. This place is full of opinions and idea. ...and AMAZING talent!
