    Hi Folks,

New Guy here, I in the Boston MA area (transplant from Texas) and just acquired a 1949 Ford F5 pickup. My plan is to harvest the flathead and sell off the truck. Motor is going to go in a 28-31 Tudor. Beyond that I am still very much in the planning phase. Below are a few shots of the truck. Motor is very original and is the 8BA type with EAB stamped on the heads. Will post a separate thread on that.

About me, well I got motor oil in the veins, but no experience with traditional rods, been a bike guy my whole life and never had the space for cars. Although I did have a pretty sweet little fox body mustang for a few years. Now I have space and am going to build a rod.

  2. Welcome to the H.A.M.B. You will get a lot of help from the people on here. Where I live, Flathead s are still fairly attainable.I would try to find another one first, as your truck would sell much faster and easier in running condition. But that's just me. I be watching for your build. I do know that there's nothing more FUN:) than a model A! Take care. Ron...

    Hi Ron,
Glad to be here and I definitely need help, some of which I'm glad to hear can be provided here. ;) I got the truck for the motor so was not really planning on getting another one so hopefully someone wants the body at least...
