Right now the car is white/surface rust colored (mostly surface rust colored). Deyomatic - do you have any good places for bodywork around Phoenix? I'm on a very tight budget. Later I plan to have Donnie from Imperial Customs flake the roof but for now I need a cheap alternative. I know primer is the wrong style for my car and will get eaten up by the sun but what else can I do that is inexpensive?

Welcome to High School again. Well sort of. Feels like it sometimes. Cool choice of cars....

  19. 60cad,
Nuthin wrong with runnin' the cad in primer if that's not your final destination. Get it goin' cruise it and when the cash get's there block it and blow color on it.
You can do most of the bodywork yourself and save a dime. Might as well learn now as later. If you get to the point of needin' color on it and can only swing materials we can figure out a way to blow it on and you can learn in the process.
You're in the right place to learn, and there is bound to be someone here willing to help you out. If nuthin' else we'll figure out a way to get you back here for a week when the time comes and paint it.
    Don't sweat the little shit.
It's all little shit my young friend.
    welcome to the board

looks to me like most of the rust you mentioned is on the roof. why not go ahead and sand the roof, flake it, use rubbing compound on the white, polish/wax it, and drive the wheels off of it?

Welcome 15 year old kid. I'm so proud of you, kids like you give me hope.
Your car is sweet. I love '60 Caddys, my favorite Cadillac by far. Yours is in great condition compared to the rustbuckets we have to deal with in Florida.

All the best to you, I wish more kids your age would learn to love old American tin instead of spending thousands on hair dryers that will eventually be utterly worthless.
