    Hello,
I'm originally from Warner Robins Georgia, but currently stationed in North Dakota. I have about six months left in the Air Force and I'll be going to the School of Automotive Machinists in Houston. I'm 26 and have been around drag racing since I was about two years old. I was mostly into racing late model mustangs but they've gotten old. I'm trying to decide wether to build a fiat altered or a slingshot dragster when I finish school. But I'm really leaning towards the altered.
    Carter,

Welcome from South Georgia (Baxley) I've driven altereds and slingshots and they are BOTH a BLAST!!! I just prefer hangin' over the rear axle for some crazy reason. Were you around when we were still racin' at Warner Robins? One of only two tracks I've ever been to that had a strip of grass between the lanes. Now THAT was wierd!

    Smokin' Joe,

Yes, Warner Robins Dragway is basically where I grew up on the weekends up until it closed. I remeber Johny Mills rolled his (super stock?) camaro trying to ride out a wheelstand until his back tire caught that grass. I never had a chance to race there since I was to young though. I had to run at Silver Dollar in Reynolds when I was old enough. My dad actually won his class in the last race held at Warner Robins in his '71 mustang. It was the GoodGuys drags but I cant remember what year. There used to be some guys that had a fiat altered with "natural lighting" or something on it. I'll never forget watching that thing going through the pits with that crazy rolling idle it had. I need something like that not just another mustang or camaro. And I would like to get into some of the nastalgia drag racing. But, I've got to finish school first. Carter,

    Lucky667,
I'm looking forward to going to Texas. Five years of northern winter's is more than enough, and they only race a few months out of the year. I just don't know if I'll like Houston since I've never lived in a big city.

As far as I know, that Natural Lightning Fiat has been parked for the last few years. It's owned by a guy I know up near Savannah. That's a bad little hot rod! I've been driving a blown front motored dragster at some of the nostalgia events when I'm not running IHRA. Went to Bowling Green, Maple Grove, SGMP and a few others. It's a lot more fun than weekend brackets. (Which I did non-stop for 20 plus years)
Who knows, maybe when you're ready... that Fiat might be available.

    k9racer,
Yes, I'm SSgt Carter for five more months. I noticed on the Silver Dollar website they have vintage drags once a year now. They never used to have that. Some of my family still lives in Bonaire, but I don't think I'll ever move back. I want to work for a NHRA team or engine builder when I finish school. So I don't know where I'll end up. Hopefully somewhere in the south east though.
