Just thought I would drop a note to the members to intro myself and say I can tell this is in your guys blood. I moved from Ohio when I was 12 in 1969 to San Diego. Lived there till I joined the service in 1976 and traveled a few places and ended back here in Ohio. Ive owned too many cars as most of us and wish I had them all back. I have a 55 chev now and it has been sitting since "89" in my garage till recently when I read my first Rod and custom. It definately changed my perspective on things like chop, shave, slam. Im working on the car now and am trying to get that look into this car. You dont (or I dont) see many 55's that way it seems they are all "restored". I have read many ideas from all the posts and any suggestions comments etc. would help me get this wreck on the road in style!
Welcome Gene. Sounds like a cool project. One thing, where did ya come up with that crazy screen name?
choprods I think its worth alot, also I decided to go to my old screen name Rosie55 after my mom (Rosie) who passed in '99'. I didnt want anyone to think I had a Pink or cute '55'!!!!!!!
I WELCOME you home....and as for the '55, do it the way that makes yer Dick-Hard, and you'll never be dis-satisfied. I personally, like the "old-style street Gasser" look myself, ...hmmm...maybe that's why I have my Willys street Gasser and my C/Altered street "A" coupe...
AHotRod; Did the gasser thing in high school in '74' on my other '55' and my brother liked it so much he wrecked his and bought mine. Never saw it after that but I was on my way to alaska. Been in florida many times also stationed in key west for two years in the coast guard.Beautiful!!
