I am here to share my experience of building a Toyota T-100 roadster. Frame is rotted, but i saw a Samurai frame on C.L. so I figured why not shorten the truck by oh 2'. Its 2wd anyway, so why not give it a cool stance and lean towards an old "slabside" look. Looks as though motor mounts would be evenly spaced. much work has been done around converting Sam's to receive a 22re, kits out there too. rear axle perches are the same distance 29" . Only thing is torsion bars and steering geometry. and id like to put a 5 speed in it. or would it be a pain to go with my old scout 3 speed and an over drive? torquey for the get go but i guess roadsters are about the nimble cruuuuize... I look on this forum all the time, This frame rust situation came up and i thought well have it hauled off, gas leak @ tank wast the final straw OR get a frame and build something cool, all the parts are there practically and If I part it out and sell I may clear 1200, not bad but how else could i have a roadster, with power brakes ,steering, double wishbone suspension, cut and rag the top! And a bit of styling with an opened wide tacoma fender tilt the rear quarter back for a "fin" hopefully you guys can talk me into it or out of it. I thought if i can get it down to a science, it might be a kitable type thing to put together? any way i look forward to enjoying your comments and critiques. thanks
