Hey Everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself...I just recently purchsed a '53 Customline from a guy who bought it last year from the original owner. He got as far as putting lowering blocks and drop coils in it before he needed to sell it. All I've done is get it running(didn't take much), put new brakes in it, had a new straight pipe from the passenger manifold back put on (and that little Flatty sounds GREAT with the straight pipe by the way), and other than that have put over a couple hundred miles on it already. It's all original...right down to the seat covers. The interior is in amazing shape for being 60 yrs old, and it runs and drives awesome! Everything works(except the clock in the dash). Everyone asks me if I'm gonna "fix it up"...I say "Hell no! It took it 60 years to get just the way it is, why would I wanna screw that up?" Haha! Anyway, I'm not much of a Ford guy even though my Dad was and he dirt-raced and had many Fords while I was growing up(he raced Flatheads for years before my time too), but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Flatheads. My Dad passed away in 2001, but I know he would have a hoot with this old Ford too. Makes me wish I wouldn't have given his old Flathead "go fast goodies" to his friends when he passed away...this one's for you old man ;) Great to be here all!
