new guys/and intro's

Discussion in 'Questions & Suggestions' started by choprods, Dec 28, 2003.

  1. Spoons...do the intro on the main part of the HAMB...other wise that was a real decent intro (as far as I'm concerned [IMG] ). Dig the 27, by the way. Lets see the Dart and the 30,now.

spoons, welcome, and just wanted to say that is the cleanest damn garage i ever did see. mine hasn't looked like that since i first moved in.

  3. Chop,
What about the guys who come here and learn a bunch.
I'm fast approaching the AARP bunch that HRP is talking about. I'd like to think that when I'm dead'n'gone
that I passed somethin' on to someone that will still be building and driving trad rods.
Here's the deal, with the ration that gets passed around here if they are really interested they hang in there and learn. If not they don't stay long.
Back in my Clubber days there were always hangarounds/wannabees. The older guys and even the younger guys (who had their shit together) always dumped a load on about everyone that came along. Those that had any shit about 'em stayed, the others were gone quick.
    Just my thoughts on it.
On the other hand, a screening process might work out as long as I can be grandfathered in.

  4. Spoons,
Slick way to slide in there. I never even read this part of the board for a long time after I jumped on. Wish I had.
I expect that if I haven't already read your intro and welcomed you(not vey good with names), I better.
If I have already found you on the main board and welcomed you then disreguard this post.

I'd like to see Ryan make it 'manditory' for everyone to include some basic info in their BIO when they join. Many BIO's are empty-blank-ziltch-!!!

Intros 'come and go' and only a small percentage of the members read them and only a small percentage of them give a welcome back, so what the hell are they really worth?

It takes 'time' to get to know what each person is really about. A simple intro should actually be in a BIO, that is there at the touch of a button, and be 'required' by everyone who belongs.

    Hey JSM,
If you look at the photos of the Dodge I sent for Barnett, you'll see how the garage was before I finished it. I'm catching alot of flack for it being so clean. Give me a few months and I'll probably be a wreck........
