    Nice cars. Thanks for sharing.
We'll get on fine. The vibe here is healthy.
Those years came at a time when cars were the main thing to focus on.
What you drove what you friends neighbors and relations drove were discussed before anything
At least in my world. TV was a hokey novelty. Today's amu*****ts did not exist.
Your Merc will be super with the touch you bring.

And yea I know they are less then ideal for building because of space and size. And making things work but I don’t really care and I’m gonna build it. Fella I got the Merc and the other cars from had this engine sent off to machine shop a few years ago and got it back and never put together. So I’m going to finish what we started. Anyone on here swapped one of these into their car? Looking for some tips and tricks. Not looking to be told
I should throw it away and get something else .

On another note. I have a 51 ford flathead v8 that I pulled apart to rebuild for a 46 pickup I have. Found deep gouges beyond repair in cylinders so I decided to go another route. That being said if there’s anyone on here who needs any engine parts send me a pm. Not looking to sell. You just cover shipping.

Just Gary and Squablow like this.
  3. Ok….well due to the silence now I’m curious to hear the bad with the 427 I am looking to ***emble. I have read quite a bit about intake manifold spacing. Lots about the truck engines being built obviously for the mid range torque for hauling since they came out of dump trucks farm trucks etc. So my question is about functionality in my merc. Essentially I am trying to cruise. Not looking for a fire breathing hotrod that runs tens in the 1/4. But on the other hand would still like to have a little power to play with. And I like the idea of a big block. And Ive already aquired this one.

sooooo the big question. I put a mild cam in this motor. Freshen the heads up. Nice intake and a 750 Holley. Matched up with a 700r4 or a th350 or 400. And drop it in the merc as a couple days a week cruiser with the wife and kids. How do you guys think the car will act w this tall deck 427 in it? Give it to me !!

Thanks in advance for the help
