Hi All, My name is David Pillado and I'm new to this forum, looks like this is a good forum. Not new to cars, been a gear head all my life and have made a living doing it. My first vehicle is Grandfathers 1954 Dodge Truck, which I'm in process of restoring, when I was 13. Got the 64 GTO that I still have when I was 19, completed a full ground up restoration on that car in 2006. All my life life I've worked in a body shop and became a PPG Trainer/Distributor in 1997, so I've worked on all kinds of cars. Been doing a lot of research getting ready to do Old Betsy (54 Dodge) and keep coming across this forum, so here I am. Looking forward to shared info and making new friends. Dave
Thank you. Hoping to start a build thread soon on my 54 Dodge truck. Should be getting dropped front axel back from Sid's soon.
Went to shop where I have my grandfathers truck today. Took a picture of it, not a good one but you guys will get the idea. Sid is sending the dropped axel next week, looking forward to finally seeing it lowered a bit. It's on stands now, check it....
Sweet Betsy! Welcome! ....That is an awesome color scheme. I wish my Dodge would have had some cool colors like that to keep on it. But anyways there is lots of good info on these Trucks on here. If you need any Help with it dont be shy to give a holler, thats the awesome thing about this place, so many people with a wide variety of knowledge. again Welcome to the HAMB and cant wait to see the build thread.
Welcome to the HAMB. I've got a '64 GTO too, bought it not too far from you in '94 in San Mateo. Mike T.
Thanks, I'm sure I'll be asking the forum for advice. Not sure what I'm going to do with color, my Grandmother wants me to paint it a nice blue color. I was thinking of just flat black for now. Not really sure and I've got a huge project coming my way so time is an issue also. Got a life time to do it. Cool, I might know who you bought it from. Lived in the area all my life and have had my GTO since 89'. Don't see many 64's, even in the club I'm in (Golden Gate Goats), there's only a small handful of 64's. Cheers
