Just want to introduce myself on here. I live in Port Washington Wisconsin which is north of Milwaukee WI. I have been interested in any and all cars most of my life. I currently have a 56 Chevrolet that I bought in 2000 and did a frame off build to make it the hot rod that I thought I would want. The car was in primer when I bought it and the whole body was skim coated with bondo that my son and I removed to reveal there was no reason for it to be coated. The car is just about complete and now that I see what's out there I should have just put an engine and trans in and drove the shit out of it. Wouldn't have to worry about stone chips and where to park it. Anyway this past summer I met Poverty Flats in a hardware store in our town and got to talking to him and he needed a little help strapping down the car he had brought along in his trailer. My son and I got him the tools he needed to get the job done and we became friends. He told me about the HAMB and I thouight I would join. Paul also introduced me to Larrry and Bobwop. Everyone I have met has been very helpfull and friendly. I want to thank them for that. Mowman1
Welcome. I...we...appreciate the proper intro. Great to know that a dad and his son are working on a project together. Please, keep us updated with words and photos. By the way, are you sure you want to infect your son with this addiction? There is NO cure!!
Welcome aboard from Maryland and another mid 50's GM owner. Driving them once you get them going is the best high there is. Got one of mine buttoned up and rolling last Summer and drove it 4,000 miles in just barely 2 months without going over 100 miles away. Great way to test too......... Looking forward to the pics and stop by "the Grand FinAlley" if you get out this way........... Sir Woosh
I have known who CheaterCarl is for a few years. We exchanged hello's at Solid Gold, the Nite Owl Cheaterama, and many other times at swap meets ect. As far as the Shakedown my son and I attended the first one bought our shirts and slipped and slided through the rain and mud. Had a great time and will be going again this year. May even pull the popup to camp for the weekend. Mowman1
THANKS!! Hope to see you back. We would love to have more campers. Camp spaces are only $10 for the weekend!!
