Greetings and Happy holidays to all! I'm Jay, new to south FL from upstate NY, and am looking for clubs or groups of like minded car folks. I've restored old cars (see my Bio.) since I was 15 now 47 and have just scored my first Hot Rod. It's a model A 5 window rumble seat coupe (rat rod actually), I'm looking for friends and events in my area. Any suggestions? My new RAT ROD's name is Maybelline. She's a 1931 Ford 5 window rumble seat coupe. She runs great, has a radical 302 /4 bbl, 4spd and 9 " Lincoln rear, F/R disc brakes,straight axle front end and fuel cell. All mounted on a frame and capped with some seriously ugly bumpers. Oh! and an asskicken stereo to boot. The only thing I can find wrong is some minor electrical wiring problems, all gone now).. It was built by an olskool kinda guy,I think his name was Rube Goldberg he took parts from everything he had! I took out the 4 speed and installed a c4, next comes a jeep steering colume w/tilt and cruise, then a total rewire. just bought the best kit I can find. Then it's fun time! maybe someday I'll add A/C it's freekin hot down here. She's going to be my daily driver. People around here want status cars, to me, this is one! The first time I drove it I was so excited and it ran out of gas, I gave myself a heart attack pushing it out of an intersection (no kidding) I may rename her Sudden Death .Oh! and best of all I found it in the newspaper for $2500.
