    Howdy all!

Well I thought I'd better introduce myself. A good friend told me about the website and I decided to take a look. Skot (Texas 32) corrupted me into helping him last year to get his 32 3w. I don't know how much help I was, but I guess even a weak mind a kinda strong back is always useful.

A little background, I grew up in Central Texas, and have always loved things mechanical. More than once I got in trouble taking something apart to "see how it works". Tried my hand at hot rodding just out of high school with a 65 Chevy PU I got from my dad. Swapped out the 6 banger for a 350 sb and slushbox type*******. Like many I ran out of money before I could get it "finished". I did however drive it to college complete with dents and creative striping from running it through a barbwire fence (backwards I might add). :D It is amazing how bald tires and wet roads can make you do funny things. Anyway while in college I had to sell my first attempt at hot rodding to pay for school.

I grew up on the late 60's early 70's style rods and customs and do think the new style street rods have there place, but I can't help but love the old style rods. Skot allowed me to help on his project and I have been bit hard. Now I am trying to find the right project (and money of course) to get started. Thanks to all of you who were at the Lone Star Roundup this weekend, I really enjoyed meeting some of you and seeing all the cool stuff. I am getting some ideas together and hope to get something together soon.

By the way, after reading about the ones that got away, I have to tell you the biggest regret. Like most guys, I was into muscle cars in high school, all the while my grandfather had one of the coolest cars setting in his yard, probably just for the asking. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I belive it was a 38 or 39 Chevy coupe. It had quit running and he got a late 40's sedan as his daily driver. He sold the cars just before he past and to this day I wish I could have seen the future and grabbed the coupe. That's probably why I will be looking for one like that as a project, funds premitting of course. Eventually I will have one just have to see.

Sorry for being long winded, but I love the site and all the projects I see here. I hope to start sharing soon.

It's great to have you here. Don't give up on finding a car. I live in Central Texas also. There are actualy several cars around this area that are reasonably priced.

Welcome from Garland, Texas. Good luck on finding a project. There are lots of old cars in central Texas. I have property in Rosebud and there are three junk yards in that area with lots of stuff just waiting for a new owner.
