Hi my name is Joe. I live in the twin cities. I have a 1930 model a 2door sedan I am building from the ground up. The car has been in my family for 15 years and now that i have half ownwrship with my dad I'm going to build the son-*****. In the build plans i'm going to take off the fenders, give it a shave and a haircut (or chop and channel wich ever you like better), and 283.

I was at msra's back to the 50's and met Tuck and he told me to check this post out and it is freakin sweet!

If you need any numbers decoded for your 283 I jsut got the a catalog of Chevy v-8 engine casting numbers 1955-93. Got an old 283 myself in my truck, and I'm trying to figure out what I got.

Welcome to the HAMB, Joe. That 283 will sound mighty good with the 327/350hp factory cam in it. Summit sells a copy under their brand for $79.00 for the cam and lifters.
