Hey all, I've hinted at it for a while, but I'm finally close enough to make a real announcement that I will be opening my new business, the SO-CAL Speed Shop Los Angeles very soon after making the debut of the new venture at the Grand National Roadster Show this week. Eventually the store location will be on PCH in Hermosa Beach, CA after a few more details get hammered out in that area. I will also have a fully stocked web-store that will of course have special pricing for Alliance Members after I do all the proper things to become a Alliance Vendor. I have already been working on quite a few relationships with other HAMB vendors, artist and product makers to help them grow their businesses as I work on growing mine. I will have many of their items in my booth in the Suede Palace so please come check them out and say "Hello".
Also, I worked with my friends at Starlite Rod & Kustom in Torrance, CA today to give my Roadster Pickup a new look more in line with my SO-CAL shop, while still maintaining its own iden***y. I think the scallop came out awesome and I want to thank Jack, Edgar and Eric for banging it out so quick on their day off. I know the two colors are pretty loud, but I figure the rolling adverti*****t for a business should be SEEN!!! This is just a mock up- I still have to have put the hoodsides back on, and have Skratch do some striping and add some new hubcaps on the way from Eric at Riley Automotive and see you all with the refreshed hot rod at the Roadster Show.
Thanks all for the support so far- hope I can help many of you out in '07 and well into the future. Thanks, Jim

Hey, it's a hate it or love it combo (kinda like my personality ;) ). I've had other ones that people hated in the beginning and then wanted the paint code a couple months later. You never want to strive for "ho-hum" even if it means you have to take a few hits from the non-daring ones. Give it some time- you might like this one.

Jim wasn't that RPU on ebay forsale.

Orange and green...... I would have guessed green and maroon (weren't the wheels that color at one time)

Congrats on the new business venture. I will say hi if I see ya at GNRS...

Carrots and Celery are one of the most "Cl***ic Combos" ever- I can live with that. At least it doesn't look like the "Kermit Mobile" anymore! ;)

It WAS for sale for a minute to help us raise some capital for the business- but THANKFULLY it didn't get bid high enough to sell.

The first wheels were maroon, which would have worked with a scallop but would have been kinda mellow (maybe even boring).

Then we did a set of Chocolate brown wheels with the dirt track tires. That color was even more boring than the Maroon (I liked the maroon). So I went off the page with a color scheme like the old dirt racers that were very loud so you could see them as they went around the dirt oval.

It's loud, but I REALLY like it! See you at the show.

Jim, you need to yank the motor and paint the block orange to help continue the orange (since you do not have solid sides)

Right now the lower sowl orange triangle section just looks like it out on its own and not linked to the grill and hood sides... (like the normal so cal swoosh)

or is that a photoshop picture of what you are planning?

It has hoodsides that are going back on- I just set it together to get an ides what it will look like. The engine was neve intended to show in this car. That's paint- not photo shop. I'm going to paint it some cl***ier shiney colors after this summer- this was just a quickie to give it a new look. The colors aren't really that LOUD- just the sun was at it's brightest.

Jim, Congrats on the new venture. You and I both know where you can get a "tech" advisor as I heard you were recently in touch with him. Just put him on your business website under a question and answer column and you'll have customers flocking to your door. BTW, I don't have to tell you you'd better stock up on plastic boat gas tanks, plumbers banding and sheet metal screws. Everyone likes a "kit" so you could market it as a "Total Traditional Fuel System". :D :D. I'll keep this under wraps until you make the anouncement in your "new products" page. Wouldn't want you to have to disappoint new customers by having to "back order" things right after opening the doors.
