As a computer illiterate, this is quite an accomplishment for me! Found this site as a tie in to an Olds site I follow. The tie in was for old timey drag race photos....I was blown away! Saw several photos of a couple of the local heros, in particular Wayne Arteaga and his Willys. Therein lies my claim to fame....I'm a Willys fanatic, currently campaigning a steel car, and building a 'gl*** car to replace it as a full dedication racer. The steel car is a 10 second piece, still streetable. Hoping to shave 6-800# and go faster..9's..in the new car. When I was a kid, Wayne and all the other g***er teams were my heros, and I swore I'd have one someday. Here I am some 40+ years later, and having the time of my life with the coupe and my friends. I'm the front man and coordinator for our group of nostalgia racers, The Geezer G***ers.....web site www.Geezerg***ers.com. All nose up, straight axle, 60's look g***ers. We are invited participants at Goodguys and NHRA events. On a personal note, married, stepchildren and grandchildren. Retired in June after 35+ years as a cop. Thanks for the opportunity to join and share my p***ions. Chuck
