sorry for the pixelation...the fonts are from the lettersetter at low res.

 

the car is pure 50's bonneville (or cisitallia GP). the Font is just wrong. sorry. the seond one looks better.

 

He can and does build anything. His passion is in vintage race-style cars and one-off bodies.

 

I took the easy route and searched "Art Deco Font" on Google, and of the many sites it took me to, this one is the most intriguing...

Definitely like the curved look of the top of the crest better than the straight line. Gives it some life.

The simplified race car illustration highlights and shadows might look good with a faceted font (the light sourcece is wrong, but you get the idea), the bottom is Lionel Classic, from Font Bros. with lots of extra space.

 

Just adding my go at this into the mix. Maybe it can spark some different ideas.

 

this one is better but it just does'nt get me excited. well, this one does more than the other. i do dig this font... those color posters are pretty badass. might be a little more "busy" than your looking for but maybe something in between those and what you have... just a thought.

I like the illustration. I like the rest, all of them, as well. I know, not much help.

 

I would like to see it in a series of different colors too.

 

Please do something with the nipple on the bottom, it makes it look like a cartoon caption bubble.

 

Logo looks great and Matt is a super kool guy. I stopped by his shop a few weeks ago and he dropped what he was doing to yak it up with me. I hope it wasn't one of your parts he was working on Kirk. I'd had to slow up progress on that beautiful little modified you've got going.

 

I like it, but I am trying to steer clear of Steve's look.

I agree w/ everyone else on the Copperplate version. Look into something on the lines of House Industries' Chalet or Neutraface families. They have a nice light, non-serif, deco look to them.

Very similar to one of the versions I'm currently messing with.

Anchorsteam is the font.

 

Just fooled around with it for a bit.

 

I think a little color could go a long way......some of these fonts, combined with the grill of the streamliner, are a bit "confusing" for the eye when in B&W. Making the image more "busy" than it really is....does that make sense? Kinda like those images that you stare at and see "other" stuff, ya know?

 

That little dose of color really brings this logo to life
