looking good. One of the best ways to refine a design is what you are doing (as you know),
The first design looks good.
The second design looks too tall and skinny but the speed and custom looks good

The first in this line below looks good too but the white block with Speed & Custom looks a little too thick.


Re: the font I used on the design I posted earlier, yes that was Anchor Stream. It is a good solid Deco font which is quite readable compared to other Deco fonts I have.

I think the no border treatment makes sense. I'll stay away from fonts etc as you already have more than enough advice on that. If you still feel the design needs definition by way of a border you could run a black border around the outside of the whole shield leaving a white inline. Sorry I can't show you what I mean. In my day it was strictly drawing boards and ink pens

Looks great KIRK. I like how the color version turned out also, and the highlights look really nice on that dove gray color you chose. They look familiar somehow. Ha!
