Hot Rods New look for my old car

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by roadstar, Feb 28, 2009.

  1. Just got these mounted and I love the look.

5.60-15 and 8.20 15 firestone. 5 inch front and 7 inch wheels in ther rear.

Goes well with my early 60's look, no one was using 16 inch tires by the early 60 and rims were usually wider than the tire. Eventually tire width improved to catch up with wider rims. But this was definatly the look.

    looks wicked!

  4. Very tasty. Amazing what a little cosmetic change can do.

  5. Tires and wheels can be such a dramatic change. And a roadster can have as many looks as wheels you put on it.

Many of us that have hi boy roadsters will have more than one set of wheels and tires. I would like to see it with a set of 5 spokes and the blackwalls as well.

I love the 15" wheels with blackwalls. Thats my favorite setup. My A model will have that same look.

  7. I've always felt there are a Very few cars that Wide White's belong on. A fenderless 32 is Not one of them. I like the New Look.

  8. Thanks for the positive feedback, well it was a no brainer haha

When I finished the car I was broke and had the www's so I used them.

I new I was going to change them eventually thats why I never painted the wheels while I had the www on the car, plus it took me a while to decide what color I wanted, but I am real happy with the color I chose.

  9. You ought to run two different styles on each side.;). Mess with peoples heads a little:p
I'd love to put some Nice Gennie type wheels with Merc hub caps on my '40. It has some billet wheels that are ok but I think the steelies would really give it a whole new feel.

  14. Nice little attention to detail.........you are spot on with the tire width if you look in the old publications.

So, I suppose you'll be willing to part with those old outdated diamond tread rears and tri-rib fronts now. Just bring them to COBO next week and I'll pick them up. Price still $200 for the set?:D

Love the way the rear tires fill up the wheel arch.

    Looks damned nice!

Great look as always from you Rudy. Now not to start a bidding war with Frank;) but I'll give you $210 for those old tires. They would look great on my 5W:)

I like it Rudy, looks Bitchen!

I think you could have pulled off the McMullen Roadster look with TTO's and the same tires too, like we talked about.

  29. Very cool Gus , thanks for the photo shop. That was way easier than coming over and trying your wheels on haha.

I will probably end up with those as another alternate set.
