Look at it this way. Guys buying "Z" mags buy one or two and get interested in old cars done the "traditional way". 90% of them chase the fad and the other 10% moves on to better things and really gets interested in the cars themselves.

I remember reading in a book about welding that I didn't buy someone saying "Just pick up a piece of metal and make something".

That stuck with me and I did it and found something I really like to do. The more of these magazines there are the more people get interested (and for you marketing type, the bigger the market gets) so it can't be all bad.

Plus, I'd like to read it before p***ing judgement on it by the cover. No matter how hard that is to do.

 

Leave it to the (pencil pushers) at easyrider to drop this **** on us!!!! they tried the same thing with the tuner/truck guys too!

 

I wonder if the articles will be: "Folding, Ironing and Hanging that Red Handkerchief. ", or "Backslants On a 4" Pomp, Getting it Right." "Showdown! Hairspray v.s. Pomade" or maybe " Tattoo Location: The Right Look for Your Body Type." And "How To: The Key To Tasteless Rods".

Ryan/Dread- my neighbor is an architect and hooked me on Dwell. I just saw an issue of Make on a movie set this weekend-that mag is ****in' cool!

 

Z is one of the left out letters of the alphabet, they feel it needs a home everywhere that the more widely used "S" which in my opinion is just a sluttly little letter anyway cause it gets around, and its all over the place on every word. Stupid Slutty Skank "S"

 

I miss the old American rodder. it had cars and girls and cars and stuff.

i buy them all. i dont sub to osr any longer but if i run across it i buy it! sometimes i find something in one that makes me think..any idea i get for my coupe or my 53 , or anything else im fartin around with, well, its worth 5 bucks to me! remember rod and custom 10 years ago???gag! thank the LORD they turned it around! its a ****in mag, buy it or dont, who really gives a **** if its hip to hate at the moment! Ive never bought or not bought a mag cause everyone was ******* on it ...now go watch oprah///she will make you calm!

I know i'm gonna catch some flack from you guys for this,but i picked up a copy of this magazine at the local 7-11.First off,it was in a plastic bag like all the mags published by easyriders.Once i opened it i couldn't believe my eyes.Horrible features,ugly models(except for the girl next to the cover model inside)so-so pics and stories of event coverage and tons of ad's.As a bonus,it even came with a mini calendar with a guy all dolled up.So as most of you would have expected...absolute ****.
There is a plus side to all this...you can either vomit excessively into the "protective"bag or use it to suffocate yourself after reading this trainwreck...Thank you Easyrider,Thank you.

 

It's a really cool magazine about making homebuilt robots and gizmos. It's like Monster Garage for the Radio Shack crowd, except slicker

 

well,,i havent seen it yet,,but,,,from your description,,and the track record of the other mags put out by them,,,i can ONLY ***UME,that it is NOT geared toward traditional RODDERS,,,but rather,the "OL SKOOL" MINI-TRUCKER crowd...(the same guys who make there S10's OL SKOOL buy primmering their trucks black.)

I would like to see a Magazine dedicated to real traditinal kustoms the way it really was. Not the way some folks think it was, the cars were to cool, the guys that built them were real inovators and designed poetry in motion. Rags

 

I finally figured out my barometer to determine the quality of a car mag....

If I can read the entire mag cover to cover during one doo-doo session, then it probably isn't all that good.
