Hello everyone, I'm new to the Hamb and figured I'd join up to learn more about the world of hot rods and classics. My dad and my grandpa built hod rods and I grew up around them and helped with many projects, but never built anything of my own. Finally pulled the trigger on a 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe and will be working on that this summer. I've got alot to learn, and a lot of tools to buy and learn how to use, but I figure jumping in head first instead of being scared to start is the better choice.
Hi & welcome. Those 40's are nice. Post some photo's when you can. What are your plans on it? Is it running & driving? If you plan on driving it as work progresses concentrate on the safety stuff first - tires, brakes & electrical. Then you can safely drive it while you do everything else. If you need parts sources try both of the following as I purchased a bunch from both - www.chevsoftheforties.com or www.thefillingstation.com Both have online stores AND both have nice paper catalogs. My avatar photo here shows the 235 engine in my 46 Chevy Coupe. Jimmie
