    Hello all!

Glad to be part of the forum. Not sure if I'm in the right place. But I couldn't find any specific forums on a car that I am interested in. A 1963 or 64 Mercury Monterey. Anyone here have any advice on what to look for when buying? I have seen some fair examples around me, but would like to make sure I'm not about to buy something that will be a money pit

My main goal with the car is for it to be reliable enough to travel the U.S. which has been a goal/dream of mine for a while...just traveling from coast to coast in an American classic.

What I did read up on this car, is that it is mainly reliable. Simple. And mechanical parts aren't too hard to find. I just wish I had more info before pulling the trigger.

Which is what brings me here. Please educate this noob.

    Thank you!

Welcome to the HAMB. I remember seeing them new, back window went up & down for ventilation. Buy a good one that someone got running well. Enjoy seeing the USA, make sure you see Monterey, Ca. Bob
